Hello and thank you for visiting Pawsitive Results! My name is Amber Faulk and I am the owner of Pawsitive Results, as well as the lead trainer and behavioral specialist.
A Little About Me: I have an extensive background in canine behavior, which ranges from simply observing them in their natural "pack" order, to studying them in a professional setting. I was born and raised in south Louisiana alongside of many animals which ranged from horses, to chickens and cats, but I always had a special bond with dogs! I understood them, unlike many other people, and was fascinated by the way they communicated and behaved.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice as well as a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. I continued my education at Duke University, where I completed a certification course on Dog Emotion and Cognition. I am also a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
My philosophy as a trainer is simple - I train dogs, I educate people. I listen to my clients, I care about them, and I treat their dogs as if they were my own. I have a strict no-force policy and consider my training techniques to be a mixture of positive reinforcement and dog psychology/operant conditioning. No two dogs are the same, therefore training techniques have to be adaptive versus straight by the book. What works for one may not work for another. For people, I take the time to explain the challenges their dog is facing as well as the underlying issues. Often times, the challenge an owner is facing is merely the symptom of a larger, underlying problem the dog is facing. I take the time to explain how to identify the problems and also how to overcome them.
My goal is to create a respectful and loving relationship between you and your canine companion. I truly love what I do and I look forward to meeting you and your special pal!
